My only critiques are the repetition of detailed recipes, especially in the section of chapter three about William Byrd’s dietary selection. The book is, quite simply, a triumph, a book to be savored, by turns as profound as it is playful, and an utter joy to read, every page of which made me laugh and think—hard. If you're wondering if this breeds a good match for you; this books explains the pros & cons, behavior, personality, care, health, etc. There is a lot in this book BUT.
